Job Purpose: The Officer is responsible for the development and execution of strategies to secure external funding, manage grant programs, and ensure compliance with grant requirements. This role aims to enhance the hospital’s financial sustainability, support research and healthcare projects, and strengthen partnerships with donors and funding agencies.

For Appointment to this position, the applicant must have:

Qualifications and Professional Requirements:

a) A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as business administration, public administration, finance, or a related discipline.
b) Previous experience in resource mobilization, grant management, and grant proposal development is typically required. Experience in the healthcare or research sector is a plus.
c) Proficiency in computer applications.
d) Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.

ix. Adherence to ethical standards and integrity in grant management and reporting

Duties and Responsibilities

i. Develop and implement resource mobilization strategies to diversify funding streams.
ii. Lead the development of grant proposals, including researching funding opportunities, and collaborating with relevant departments to write proposals for funding.
iii. Oversee the administration of awarded grants, including compliance with grant agreements, regulations, and reporting requirements.
iv. Maintain organized records of grant-related documents, budgets, and reports.
v. Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with grant-making organizations, donors, and funding agencies.
vi. Communicate regularly with program officers and other stakeholders, providing updates on grant progress and outcomes.
vii. Prepare and submit timely and accurate grant reports to funding agencies and stakeholders. Ensure compliance with grant-related regulations, policies, and reporting deadlines.
