Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital is a leading public hospital in the South Nyanza region, Western Kenya. The Facility was established in 1916 during the colonial period as a center for treating injured soldiers during World War I.
In November 2007, we achieved a significant milestone when we were upgraded to Level 5 status, a testament to our commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare services to our community. Subsequently, in 2014, through The Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital Act, we attained the esteemed status of a Teaching and Referral Hospital.
With a bed capacity of 700, Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital stands as a beacon of hope for those in need of medical care. Our dedicated team strives to accommodate as many patients as possible, with an occupancy rate ranging from 109 percent to 150 percent.
