Job Purpose: The Human Resource Officer’s job is to support all HR processes, systems, and policies.

For Appointment to this position, the applicant must have:

Qualifications and Professional Requirements:

i. Bachelor’s degree in any of the following Social Sciences: Human Resource Management, Commerce, Business Administration, Business Management, or a related qualification from a recognized institution.
ii. Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management, Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) Certificate or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
iii. A minimum of nine (5) years relevant work experience with at least five (2) years’ experience in senior management position.
iv. Membership with the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) demonstrable with a Valid Practicing License.
v. Demonstrated a high degree of professional Key Competencies and administrative capability.
vi. Proficiency in computer applications.
vii. Fulfilled requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.

Duties and Responsibilities

i. Interpret and implement human resource management policies, procedures and guidelines.
ii. Coordinating human resource management & development programmes.
iii. Develop and implement human resource management & development plans.
iv. Develop and coordinate staff performance management systems and programmes.
v. Foster innovation and technology transfer in the management of human resources.
vi. To develop and inculcate a positive and productive organizational culture by setting standards for ethical behavior and enforcing the standards.
vii. Planning and budgeting for Human Resource & Development activities and programmes.
viii. Administer staff benefits and compensation programmes.
ix. Capacity building and knowledge management for staff.
x. Training, mentoring, guiding, and Counselling staff.
xi. Ensure management of industrial relations.
