Job Purpose: The Consultant Radiologist plays a critical role in providing accurate diagnostic imaging services. This position exists to interpret medical images, guide patient treatment plans, and ensure the highest quality of radiology services.

For Appointment to this position, the applicant must have:

Qualifications and Professional Requirements:

a) Master’s Degree (MMed) in Radiology or equivalent specialization from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council.
b) Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from an institution recognized by Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
c) At least one year of working experience as a Consultant Radiologist in a reputable hospital.
d) Evidence of having taken a leadership course.
e) Retention in the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council register.
f) Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council.
g) Recognition as a specialist by the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council.
h) Valid Practice License from the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council.

i) Professional Insurance Indemnity Cover.
j) Fulfilled the requirement of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.

i. Proficiency in diagnostic imaging interpretation, ensuring accurate and timely assessments.
ii. Collaboration and effective communication within interdisciplinary healthcare teams for comprehensive patient care.
iii. Dedication to continuous learning and research to stay updated on the latest advancements in radiology.
iv. Commitment to maintaining quality and safety standards in radiology procedures.
v. Leadership and mentorship skills to guide and support junior staff members.

Duties and Responsibilities

i. Perform and interpret a wide range of radiology studies.
ii. Collaborate with medical teams to provide accurate diagnoses.
iii. Ensure the quality and safety of radiology procedures.
iv. Stay updated on advancements in radiology technology and practices.
v. Participate in research and clinical trials.
vi. Provide mentorship and guidance to radiology staff.
vii. Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.
